Wright-Foreman was born in Queens, New York in 1997. Wright-Foreman starred at Christ the King Regional High School in Queens before finishing high school at the High School for Construction Trades, Engineering and Architecture in Ozone Park. There, Wright-Foreman and coach Cory Semper combined to win two PSAL Queens borough championships. Wright-Foreman then moved on to play collegiate basketball at Hofstra University in Nassau County, New York. At Hofstra, he was coached by longtime friend and mentor, former NBA journeyman Speedy Claxton. Wright-Foreman spent four years at Hofstra, and his 2,327 career points rank him second in school history. Wright-Foreman led Hofstra in scoring (27.1 points per game), made threes (110), made field goals (330) and made free throws (178) in the 2018-19 season. He finished second in the nation in points per game. The Queens, NY native ended his four-year career with 2,327 career points and added 367 rebounds, 258 assists and 83 steals. He was second on the Pride in assists (132) and steals (30) in his senior year. Wright-Foreman was named as the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year in his senior season (2018-19) and also earned a spot on the CAA All-Tournament team. Wright-Foreman helped lead Hofstra to the 2018-19 CAA regular-season title and to the CAA Tournament title game before losing to Northeastern. Wright-Foreman was chosen by the Utah Jazz in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft (53rd overall).
