The 2018-19 Kentucky Wildcats were a deep and talented team, but only Herro started all 37 games for the team. Coach John Calipari mixed his starting lineup and had to deal with some injuries, but Herro was a consistent scoring presence. He was second on the team with 14.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists. The 6-foot-5 guard hit 35.5 percent of his three-pointers. Herro scored at least 20 points six times, including a season-high 29 points in a comeback win over Arkansas. He had his lone double-double game with 15 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Tennessee. The guard helped the Wildcats get to the Elite Eight. He knocked down 19 points in a win over Houston and was named to the All-Midwest Region team to go along with SEC All-Freshman and All-SEC Second Teams. After his freshman season, Herro declared for the 2019 NBA Draft.
