OG Anunoby was drafted by the Raptors with the 23rd pick in the 2017 NBA Draft out of the University of Indiana. The small forward appeared in 74 games during his rookie campaign for Toronto, starting an impressive 62 of those contests. Anunoby averaged 5.9 points and 2.5 rebounds per tilt. He shot 47.1 percent from the floor, including 37.1 percent from three-point land. Anunoby scored in double figures on 10 occasions during his rookie season. The rookie from London made his NBA debut on opening night, Oct. 19 during a home win over the Bulls in which Anunoby delivered nine points, three rebounds and two assists. On Apr. 8, Anunoby scored a career-high 21 points against Orlando. It was arguably his best game of his brief career, in which he also pulled down a career-high eight rebounds, and hit five three-pointers in the 112-101 win over the Magic. Anunoby appeared in all 10 of Toronto's playoff games. He averaged 7.9 points and 2.1 rebounds per playoff contest. He reached double-digits in scoring twice during the playoffs, including a playoff-high 18 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Anunoby's Raptors, after defeating Washington in the first round, lost to Cleveland in the second round of the playoffs.2018
Anunoby's sophomore season was full of ups and downs. His strong play resulted in an invitation to participate in the Rising Stars Challenge in February, where he scored 12 points in 18 minutes for Team World. However, multiple ailments, including a wrist injury and a concussion, limited the Indiana product to 67 games during the regular season. If that wasn't enough, a late-season appendectomy wiped out Anunoby's entire postseason. When he did play, the 6-foot-8 forward posted per-game averages of 7.0 points and 2.9 rebounds. He converted 45.3 percent of his field goal attempts, including 33.2 percent of his shots from behind the arc. Anunoby also made 58.1 percent of his free-throw attempts. A four-game stretch from Nov. 5 to Nov. 12 in which he averaged 15.3 points per game was undoubtedly the most impressive run of Anunoby's young career. He also chipped in a 21-point game in mid-December and a 22-point game in mid-February. Anunoby averaged one made three-pointer in addition to one steal-plus-block per game in 20.2 minutes worth of action, so he can contribute in a variety of areas.
