Vincent Poirier is a native of Clamart, France, and was born in 1993. As a kid, soccer was his passion. An unexpected growth spurt changed his focus to basketball. His father, Eric, died unexpectedly in 2014. Vincent's mother, Anne-Laure, helped Vincent move from France to Boston in the summer of 2019. Vincent has one younger brother, Sebastien, who is 6-foot-7. Knee issues prevented Poirier's brother from playing pro ball. Vincent didn't watch NBA basketball until the 2014-15 season.
