Hornets Head to Big Apple to Battle Nets
The Charlotte Hornets take on the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Wednesday night.

The Hornets (6-8) have been plagued by some inconsistency in the early going, as their record implies. They suffered their biggest downswing of the season in their most recent game, dropping a 132-96 decision to the Toronto Raptors on Monday night. Marvin Williams led the Hornets with 14 points, adding four rebounds, one assist and two blocks. Miles Bridges and Bismack Biyombo generated matching 13-point tallies while pulling down five and two rebounds, respectively. Devonte' Graham provided 11 points, six assists, two rebounds and one steal. Terry Rozier delivered 10 points, three rebounds and three assists.

The Hornets will come into Wednesday's game without any injuries to report.

The Nets (5-8) come into Wednesday's contest in the midst of a rough stretch of their own, as they've dropped four of their last five games. Their most recent loss came courtesy of the Indiana Pacers, which manhandled them by a 115-86 score on Monday night in a game that Brooklyn placed without Kyrie Irving (shoulder). Spencer Dinwiddie led the way with 28 points, adding eight assists and five rebounds. Jarrett Allen furnished a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double that also included one assist and one block. Garrett Temple delivered 10 points, six boards, three assists and two blocks.

The Nets will be without Irving again Wednesday, while Caris LeVert (thumb) and Wilson Chandler (suspension) will also sit.

The two teams split the four-game 2018-19 season series. Wednesday's game marks the first of four 2019-20 meetings for Charlotte and Brooklyn.
