Top 200 Prospects: Big Fish

Top 200 Prospects: Big Fish

This article is part of our Top 200 Prospects series.

This is where my own personal top-100 lists sits now based on the same caveats I listed during the season:

1. Fantasy potential can be greater than actual MLB potential thus some guys will be higher or lower here than they are elsewhere

2. Full season league performance gets preference over smaller sample sizes

3. I don't rank international signees until they play on US soil

Additionally, it gets tough to rank the recent draftees since most have not even played yet so everything relies on the scouting reports that are made available online or by networking with others to get their opinion on them. The trip to the AFL earlier this month allowed me to both do some of my own scouting and network with some that do that for a living. While there, I was also able to interview four of the five guys on this list (Trout, Gose, Dominguez, Franklin) to talk to them about their development and their game and get a glimpse into their attitude toward the game.

This list will be updated in February as more information comes in over the offseason, trades happen, and career paths become clearer or more muddied.
