DraftKings LoL: Wednesday LPL/LCK Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings League of Legends series.

LPL/LCK Games (EDT)

  • 2:00 a.m. Dominus Esports vs. LNG Esports (LPL)
  • 2:00 a.m. SANDBOX GAMING vs. DragonX (LCK)
  • 5:00 a.m. eStar vs. Vici Gaming (LPL)
  • 5:00 a.m. KT Rolster vs. Griffin
  • 7:00 a.m. Victory Five vs. Royal Never Give Up (LPL)
  • 8:00 a.m. Gen.G vs. T1

DMO (2-7) vs. LNG (4-5)

This game scares me a bit because I personally think LNG can get punished here if they are not playing at their best. DMO recently beat Rogue Warriors convincingly; the latest indication this team can upset some middle-of-the-pack team as they look to find their identity. LNG is a team who relies on Flandre so much because all of the players seem to be nervous to make a decision on anything. Case in point, against Vici Gaming they were simple lost, forgoing any sort of Baron or Drake control but were bailed out by their top laner. If DMO wants to win, they need to draft for an early comp and then punish the non-existing early-game urgency of LNG. Reasserting Asura as a hard carry could do wonders for LNG, if for no other reason than to give Flandre a bit of extra assistance. It's evident Maple is not the proper option, which should have been clear from his time with SN.

Prediction: LNG 2-1

Bets: DMO ML ( +225)

LNG Players to target: Flandre (Top $7,000), Xx (JNG $6,600), Asura (ADC $7,600)

Estar (9-1) vs VG (4-6)

Estar (9-1) vs VG (4-6)

You wouldn't think it based on the records, but this should be the game to watch in the LPL. As much of an Estar fan as I am, I believe this is the day we finally get to see them challenged. Estar is very good, and there isn't a lot of things to go into with them as they are probably the best play aside from RNG. However, they haven't really face a team that has punished them for their in-game mistakes. Estar has a 63 percent dragon rate --- very high for the LPL considering 70 percent of the league is closer, or lower, than 50 percent dragon rate. In short, Estar is forcing teams to come to them. That being said, Vici Gaming is another team who controls the dragon pit very well, hovering around 52 percent. So far, every team with a 50 percent or higher dragon-control rate has forced a Game 3 against Estar, with EDward Gaming (55 percent dragon rate) actually winning. VG coach, KKoma, is a very smart guy and seems to have found a roster that is clicking at all levels starting with Aix. VG has looked good in recent form and their win condition is to force bottom side hard with iBoy to control the dragon pit. Wink is a great player, but the attention dedicated to Cryin has essentially let the bottom lane go relatively unchallenged. iBoy is the team's "golden boy" carry that they need to play around if they want to win this game, and I definitely can see VG taking them to three games and winning it if they can execute everything well. Remember, Estar is still a young team with a lot of growing pains ahead when teams finally know how to punish them.

Prediction: VG 2-1

Bets: VG ML (+250)

VG Players to target: Aix (JNG $5,200), Forge (MID $5,600), iBoy (ADC $5,800)

Estar Players to target: Cryin (MID $8,400), Wink (ADC $8,600), Shiauc (SUP $6,800)

RNG (5-3) vs V5 (0-9)

Not much analysis needed here except to say that RNG is going to dominate in this one.

Prediction: RNG 2-0

Bets: N/A
RNG players to target: LangX (TOP $7,600), XLB (JNG $7,400), Betty (ADC $8,200), Ming (SUP $6,400)

SBG (4-8) vs DRX (8-4)

SB lost a horrible game against APK, and it was a disaster from start to finish. They literally handed APK that win as their executions and drafts were horrible, and it seemed like they were treating APK with disrespect even though they are at the bottom half of the league. DRX played a weak team in Griffin but, if this is your first time watching them, this is how they were at the start of the split. This DRX roster is talented and they are looking back in form after the last game. SB's only hope is if Chovy is out of character and decides to hard engage without his team, but I don't think that will happen again considering he was once highly touted as one of the top mid laners in the world.

Prediction: DRX 2-0

Bets: N/A

DRX players to target: Pyosik (JNG $7,200), Chovy (MID $7,600), Deft (ADC $7,400), Keria (SUP $6,000)

LCK - KT (7-5) vs GRF (2-10)

KT has just been proving everyone wrong. Even though they dropped a game last series, in Game 3 they came back and had Aiming hard carry them to victory. Griffin was horrible last time around, and I am 100 percent blaming their coach, H Dragon, for this problem. H Dragon was a former coach for Jin Air, and for those who didn't know the team, they were one of the worst year after year under the same coaching. Until otherwise I will be fading Griffin every game until they show me something different, just like V5.

Prediction: KT 2-0

Bets: N/A

KT Players to target: Bono (JNG $6,600), Aiming (ADC $7,800), Tusin (SUP $5,800)

T1 (10-2) vs GenG (11-1)

This is a game I really advise everyone to stay away from because this is going to be a very slow, calculated game between two titans of the LCK. LCK teams are usually not bloody unless its a top team vs. a low-end team: in this case both teams are fighting for the No. 1 spot. T1 handed GenG their first lost at the start of the season in a very close matchup, mainly because Teddy and Cuzz carried their team to victory in the last team fight. GenG will want some revenge, as their star-studded lineup will be in full review mode to stop Cuzz and Teddy again, but they still have to worry about Faker who at any time can pop off. This team will need to rely heavily on Clid, Ruler and Life the same way as T1, so this will come down who can execute better. If you're just interested in League of Legends, this will be a game to watch.

Prediction: GenG 2-1

Bets: N/A

GenG Players to target: Clid (JNG $6,400), Ruler (ADC $7,200), Life ($5,200)

T1 Players to target: Teddy (ADC $7,000)

STACKS TO CONSIDER

Cash: LNG/Estar, GenG/Estar, LNG/RNG

GPP: VG/RNG, VG/LNG, VG/DRX, T1/Estar
